OSN Raid Loot Policy
« on: November 16, 2021, 06:34:01 pm »
Although any raid loot policy would be best if it handed a reward to every single attending participant of a raid, that is not an easy task to accomplish. With that said we have considered the regulations in our policy to benefit all members of the guild either directly or indirectly.

Our raid loot policy considers loot distribution in a manner best suited to guild strength, progression, and growth while maintaining fairness, honor, and participant satisfaction.

We utilize a top-down approach, where need and seniority take precedent. This is accomplished with our tiered/ranked member structure and a loot council for administration.

We do not use DKP or any sort of points system.

The Approach
All raid loot, unless it’s a no trade item will be collected during the raid by the loot council and distributed at the end of the raid.

Need before greed always. Need is simply defined here as being an upgrade or a condition that will improve your toon except monetarily.

Need Distribution (toon present) consideration is in this order: Full OSMem, Noobs, Inactive. These are the member tiers of the guild. The character has to be preset in the raid.

If no need can be filled from the above consideration the item will be open to alt characters of attending raiders in the same order as above.

If there is still no need the item is open to all with a greed roll and the loot counsel will broadcast when to /random 1000. Ties will require additional rolls until the tie is broken.

When multiple raiders want the same item the loot counsel will use the above stated guidelines.

In situations where multiple raiders want the same item and are in the same member tier the loot counsel will make a determination based on how much benefit the guild as a whole will gain. They may ask for a link to the item the loot will replace. They will consider seniority, past member attendance, member participation within the guild, and other relevant information.

It is important to pay attention to what is dropped or to know what mobs drop what items. Sometimes an item may have been dropped that was considered by the loot counsel to not be an upgrade or of any use to anyone. If something has dropped that is important to you take note of it and ask about it if it wasn’t called. Otherwise, it will go into the guild vault or sold to a vendor.

If you have already been awarded an item you will not be eligible for another item unless there is no need from others.

The loot counsel will be determined at the start of the raid and announced.

If for any reason you disagree with the loot counsel’s decision or feel that you have been cheated out of an item based on bias, please use the mail system and send the guild leader, Fortay a letter with all pertinent information about who, why, how, etc. Refrain from drama, as it violates a guild rule and send this after the raid has ended and within 24 hours of the raid’s completion.
